RIYADH, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Saudi Air Forces announced Wednesday the interception of two missiles fired from Yemen, including one towards Riyadh, Al Arabiya local news reported.

The forces also intercepted another missile fired by the Houthi militias towards border city Jazan.

The spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition forces said the air defense systems were able to detect an unidentified object in the direction of Abha International Airport and fought accordingly.

Maliki said that after examining the debris of the object, specialists of the joint coalition forces said it was found to be a drone with Iranian characteristics and specifications that was trying to target the airport.
