BEIJING, March 28 (Xinhua) -- The top-ranked Shanghai Sharks beat the Tianjin Pioneers 112-96 to claim their 12th consecutive win, while Eugene German hit a game-winning three-pointer to help the Beijing Ducks edge the Guangdong Southern Tigers 96-93 in the 31st round of the 2025-26 Chinese Basketball Association regular season.

Six Shanghai players scored in double digits to continue their winning streak, as Li Tianrong came off the bench to register 20 points. Tianjin's Lin Ting-chien scored a game-high 23 points and dished out ten assists.

Beijing gradually found its rhythm after former NBA player JaVale McGee joined the team this month. In the road match against Guangdong, Beijing bounced back in the second half to rally past its old rival with German's winning shot.

Zhao Rui and German contributed 23 and 20 points respectively for Beijing, while McGee had 12 points and ten rebounds. For Guangdong, Edmond Sumner scored 28 points, and teammate Cui Yongxi added 17.

"Both teams delivered an excellent game for the fans. We made some mistakes but showed resilience during the match. I hope we can carry on the momentum in the rest of this season," said Beijing head coach Xu Limin.

Also on Friday, the Zhejiang Lions defeated the Sichuan Blue Whales 91-81 to rank second in the standings, the Shenzhen Leopards cruised past the Fujian Sturgeons 107-104, the Jiangsu Dragons won over the Jilin Northeast Tigers 78-72, and the Shanxi Loongs clinched victory over the Shandong Heroes 100-94.

In other Saturday's matches, the Zhejiang Golden Bulls prevailed over the Qingdao Eagles in overtime 100-96, the Beijing Royal Fighters eased past the Ningbo Rockets 94-78, the Guangzhou Loong Lions overpowered the Liaoning Flying Leopards 93-77, while the Xinjiang Flying Tigers sealed a 94-87 win over the Nanjing Monkey Kings. ■
