UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned Friday's bomb attacks in the Somali capital of Mogadishu, which left at least 15 people dead.

He sent his profound condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured, said his deputy spokesman Farhan Haq, in a statement.

The secretary-general believed that Somalis will not be deterred by such violence from pursuing a peaceful and prosperous future. He reiterated the support and solidarity of the United Nations with the people and federal government of Somalia in this endeavor, said the statement.

At least 15 people were killed in triple bomb blasts that rocked Mogadishu on Friday. The first explosion hit a hotel, followed by two more nearby. The al-Shabaab militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
