WELLINGTON, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The New Zealand government is hosting the D5 ministerial meeting to discuss digital rights, trade and identity, the country's Digital Services Minister, Clare Curran, said here on Tuesday.

New Zealand, Estonia, Israel, the South Korea and Britain make up the D5 and the delegations are here to "share ideas, identify challenges and solutions, and discuss important global issues such as digital rights, digital trade and digital identity," Curran said.

This is the fourth annual gathering of D5 countries and New Zealand is hosting it for the first time, Curran said, adding that the conference will showcase the best digital innovations New Zealand has created.

New Zealand aims to close the digital divides by 2020, and to make the information and communication technology the second largest contributor to GDP by 2025, she said.

The minister encourages all New Zealanders to "access digital technologies, take advantage of the opportunities they offer and use them to get more involved in the decision-making processes of government," the minister said.

There will be 14 exhibits on display with virtual reality experiences, the world's first Artificial Intelligence (AI) politician and online gaming designed to improve mental health, Curran said.
